“I have passed among you, quick as a star, sowing copious words. Now, if my words were lost in the well of forgetfulness or wrapped in fog, do not worry. My Father will send you a Comforter who, at the same time, will be the Enlightener who will help you to remember everything, and will dissipate the mist from your horizons so that everything that I said and did would become transparent before your eyes.
But the hour is coming when there will be no more parables. The Comforter whom I will send from my Father will inundate your eyes with direct and midday brightness.
A golden dream was being born and was growing in my garden throughout our apostolic adventure; that golden dream shines before my soul’s eye, day and night like a morning star.
Love that is not dispersed turns to stone. I have been with you as a brother among brothers. I have not lived in the inaccessible heights where eagles nest, but we have dined at the common table and together, we have rested under the stars and have searched for the hidden purpose of things. We were an itinerant home without a fixed dwelling. When you remember me, think of only one thing: that I loved you, and that, in the same way, you must love one another.
This is my testament, my golden dream: be a living home in the world; be one as the Father and I are one, and in our unity, your own unity may be fulfilled. I am leaving you many tasks: clean the lepers; heal the sick; proclaim the Kingdom… but, above all else, I give you a command with the urgent mark of a final testament: that you live loving one another until I return. In this way, they will know that you are my disciples. It will be the distinctive banner and fundamental task. Children, my little children, again, I repeat with my whole soul: I give you a new commandment: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you too must love one another.
As the Father is in me and I in him, may you also be consummated in our oneness. This is my golden dream!”
