On June 13th, in the New Hall of the Vatican Synod, the noted annual meeting promoted by the Dicastery for Laity, the Family and Life attended by Lorena Rodríguez Mediavilla, PLW’s International Coordinator, and Purificación Vilar González, PLW’s Internacional Secretary,
in representation of all the Guides in the world. Also present was the Coordinator of the European Zone, Mercedes Rodríguez Arévalo.
After the Opening Mass in Saint Peter and the Audience with Pope Francis, who addressed a few words highlighting the synodal virtues for an interior conversion, the participants reflected together on the central theme of the meeting; The challenge of synodality for the mission.
The Pope indicated that he wants synodality to remain a permanent way of acting in the Church at all levels, until it becomes a shared ecclesial style. The Prefect of the Dicastery, Cardinal Farrell, encouraged the rediscovery of dialogue, listening, communal discernment and shared apostolate.
It was a day illuminated by the Holy Spirit to go deeper, walk together and continue the evangelizing mission to which every believer is called.
