After holding a Prayer and Life Workshop for adults at the Convent of Santa Clara of the Capuchin sisters in Valencia, Camila decided to make her First Holy Communion.
It all started on September 6, 2022. Camila, a 26-year-old Brazilian national, had only been living in Valencia for five months. Through a friend, who resides in Manchester, she receives the information of the starting of a Prayer and Life Workshop in Valencia. She is encouraged to attend the opening session. That afternoon, at 16 h. she attends the session, being the only attendee. Minutes later, more participants starting coming to attend the session.
After about eight sessions of the workshop, she has a personal ENCOUNTER with the Lord and feels the need to make her First Communion, because she had not received Communion it in her country Brazil before.
After consulting with the Chaplain, Father Jacobo and the Mother Abbess of the Pepa convent, they agreed that the programmatic contents of the Workshop are a good preparation to carry it out to the end of it and then receive her First Holy Communion .
“The clocks were launched”, she made her confession for the first time on December 6th, finished the Workshop on December 17 with the DESERT, and decides to receive JESUS for the first time in the Sacrament of the Eucharist on December 18, day of Our Lady of Hope. “The gates of heaven opened for Camilla, the angels sang and all was joy.”
The Valencia Local Coordination thank God for this event that allowed them to live and share this moment with Camila.
Thanks to the “Prayer and Life Workshops“ today, Camila has a new “ amily” in Valencia, her Capuchin sisters and her friends from the workshop, especially Helena and Keny.
